Carondelet Marana Hospital Opening Soon!
Our hospitals can be so crowded, sometimes we don’t get the care we think we deserve. This fairly new concept of the microhospital seems designed to bridge the gap between hospitals and urgent care facilities, providing emergency care and inpatient procedures. Tucson is prepared to welcome its very own microhospital, Carondelet Marana Hospital, in the next few months - spring of 2020.
Carondelet and other microhospitals are also more affordable options than larger, general hospitals, as they require less overhead for their smaller facilities. They still are comprised of 5 main departments - emergency, imaging and diagnostics, surgery and procedures, inpatient care unit, and medical offices. Carondelet will have a 13-bed emergency department, two operation rooms, and eight inpatient rooms and services, open 24/7.
I think microhospitals are a great trend! While we hope to lead healthy lives, the reality is we will sometimes need care and it's nice to have multiple care options located in one convenient place. What do you think about microhospitals? Contact me and let me hear your thoughts on the subject!
