2020 is here, can you believe it?! I feel like it's going to be a special year for many reasons. We've got exciting events on the horizon, including the Summer Olympics, presidential election and a planned mission to Mars by NASA. We also have a leap year and solar eclipse to look forward to. I'm even excited for the upcoming Trivia and Bingo nights and dances and concerts in my community at the Highlands at Dove Mountain.
With all these future events to look forward to, I'm also eagerly anticipating almost a "new nostalgia." I think people are going to embrace the Roaring 20s of yesteryear and bring back some 1920s styles. We have lots of speakeasies in Arizona and I can see them getting more popular throughout the decade too. We may not have prohibition anymore but we also have not yet legalized cannabis so there might be a surge in clubs that cater to that. Who knows?
Though I tend to romanticize the earlier Roaring 20s, the decade was full of many hardships that are mirrored in some ways today. Hopefully this new decade will blossom with great gains in all areas - a stimulated economy, new inventions and technologies, a healthier planet and a strong housing market.
