We Arizonans love to brag about the over 300 days of sunshine per year. We know we need rain, but those rare wet occasions can make us feel as gray and gloomy as the day. This week we had 3 days in a row of rain and cold temps (yes, we barely hit 60; I know, we're spoiled!) and I wanted to hibernate the way I used to during NY snowstorms. However, these rainy Arizona rarities bring the most beautiful gifts once they're through - rainbows the likes of which I've never seen anywhere else. Full arches with brilliant colors like the ones here that I photographed yesterday. Don't blink or you might miss them - they appear bold and bright out of the cloudy sky and then start sliding down into nothing but a memory. A spectacular, beautiful memory. Next time it rains, come try to catch a rainbow with me!
