Whether they’re first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, or even your neighbor who’s always there to lend a hand, these unsung heroes step up when we need them the most. Their selfless actions and compassionate hearts truly make a lasting impact on our lives. Personally, I want to give a special shoutout to the Golder Ranch Fire Dept. About six years ago, while hiking, I slipped and I had broken three bones in my ankle. They came to my rescue and carefully got me down the mountain to the trailhead, where an ambulance was waiting to take me to the hospital. I didn’t know what the future held, but thanks to their kindness and professionalism, I felt safe every "step" ( I was not stepping) of the way. After surgery—complete with a plate and pins and 8 weeks later—I was happy to say I was walking again! 🚶♀️ I will forever be grateful for their quick action and the care they provided in such a frightening moment.
