Did you know today is National Spumoni Day? If you haven’t tried it, now’s the perfect time, especially with this heat! Spumoni is an Italian ice cream that comes from Naples. It’s not just any ice cream—it’s a layered treat, usually with vanilla (or sometimes chocolate), mixed with candied fruits, cherries, nuts, and pistachios.
What about you—what’s your go-to dessert? Are you a fan of gelato, sorbet, or maybe just good old-fashioned ice cream? I eat lactose free ice cream and there is plenty of variety! I remember from my childhood in an apartment complex in Queens, NY, the joy of hearing the Mr. Softee truck coming down the street or Good Humor!
